As former military aviators, we have a firm belief in aviation safety. At Desert Drones, we have transferred that safety discipline to our day to day operations. Our flights are planned meticulously to ensure we achieve the aim with minimum risk. We have a vigorous supervision process to ensure weather, airspace, insurance, crew competency and certification is all current, and fit for the task.

Additionally, our aircraft have a regular maintenance schedule to ensure that our components are in the best of health and ready to serve. We understand that we are not the only users of airspace, so we have an obsessive approach to ensuring collision avoidance with other aircraft, as well as obstructions. Desert Drones Imagery is based in Phoenix, Arizona and we employ our safety techniques not only for local clients but also for clients around the globe.

DJI Inspire 1 Pro

The DJI Inspire 1 Pro and Inspire 1 RAW are the smallest, easiest professional aerial filmmaking platforms in the world. They combine DJI’s unparalleled leadership in aerial technology with world-class M4/3 imaging capabilities.

DJI M600

The Matrice 600 (M600) is DJI’s new flying platform designed for professional aerial photography and industrial applications. In the interest of safety, we have gone a step further and fitted 3 inertial measuring units, as well as 3 GPS systems to our M600s. They are also fitted with dual sensors; the FLIR 640 pro R based Zenmuse XT Radiometric, and the UHD Go Pro Hero 4 Black edition. The unparalleled combination of mechanical redundancy, and advanced sensor suite make this a formidable platform for industrial inspections.

Skywalker X8

The X8 is a 2 meter wing span blended wing UAS. Able to carry a 2kg payload for over an hour’s endurance, it is a fantastic platform for wide area image collection. We use the Skywalker X8 with the 24.3 Mega Pixel Sony A6000 to achieve high resolution results. When used with ground control points and RTK GPS, we can achieve cost effective and highly accurate results.
